Born to abusive parents, Orihime's much older brother ran away with her at a young age and raised her himself. Since his death, Orihime has lived on her own and is known as a sweet but slightly ditzy girl with strange tastes (and big boobs). She has a crush on fellow student Kurosaki Ichigo and after he became a substitute Soul Reaper, Orihime's own spiritual powers were awakened. Her powers, however, are akin to a god's — which made her a target for their enemies.
Despite her spacey nature, Orihime is quite intelligent, ranking 3rd out of 200 on class tests; she is extremely loyal and sweet and is phsyically stronger than even she realizes. Like Chad, she lives alone, supported by unknown relatives. Unlike Ichigo, Chad and Uryuu, Orihime has little difficulty making friends.
